Hal Fischer, President of EG Tax of Arizona

Hal was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. After attending high school and a year of college, Hal married his wife Christa. He enlisted in the US Navy as an Interior Communications Electrician. During the Viet Nam era, he served aboard the USS Intrepid for four years with three tours of duty in the Tonkin Gulf off Viet Nam.

After his discharge from the Navy, Hal went to work for New York Telephone. He worked for them for almost 27 years. After retiring from that company, He started his own telecommunications business, Custom Electrical Communications. He became very successful at this, becoming a Nortel Contractor and serving several national communications services. He grew CE Communications from an unheard of business, to a well-respected company servicing Western and Central New York State. EG Tax was one of his clients. He solved several of their communications problems and is still their communications consultant today.

Hal sold his business and with his wife Christa, moved to Arizona in the spring of 2004 to be closer to their grandchildren and family. He started to work for the Phone Doctor, a local phone service company. During this time, Hal has talked with several of the residents of the Tri City area and has found that there are many instances when people are being taken advantage of in their tax situations, one of which is RELOCATION. His own tax return, If processed by one of the major competitors in this field would have cost him DOUBLE THE RATE of what EG Tax would have charge! Another one of his competitors DOES NOT E-file in all 50 states!

Last spring, while doing a phone installation, the client was talking with Hal about her move from California, going through a divorce, and selling property. She was upset about her tax situation and was worried about what she would do. This was the afternoon of April 14th. Hal gave her Esther’s office number in Buffalo and said that someone there could help her with her situation. On April 15th at approximately 3 PM, her taxes were filed in California, Arizona, and Federal. She remarked that she was surprised at how fast they were able to help her and how low the fee was!

Hal Fischer and Esther Gulyas have come together to bring EG Tax to Arizona! With the ability to E-file in ALL 50 STATES, we want to specialize in those relocating to the area, giving them the confidence that their return will be handled professionally and with personal attention. We also want to be a service to the whole community in providing jobs and reasonable fees for tax return preparation and filing.
